2014 Red Door Music Festival

Fall 2014 // Location: Norman, OK

Branding // Social Media Campaign

In the fall of 2014 I was challenged with handling the creative direction for the Inaugural Red Door Music Festival, a philanthropy event (hosted by Sigma Phi Epsilon) that would host several local and national musicians and donate it's proceeds to Living Water International. My duties included branding, social media and physical deliverables (all-access passes, shirts, etc.). Along with this I helped in designing the layout for the festival ground.

Branding Process

RED DOOR WORDS.png

Finding the identity for the music festival was the first task I had in the creative direction of the festival. With the bands selected, we wanted to create an identity and atmosphere to match the music. With the style of music, indie folk and rock, we wanted to encapsulate that with the atmosphere of SigEp's fraternity house, the venue for the festival. Thus the desire was to create a brand for the music festival that would represent the music you would hear and the venue you were visiting.

Identity

From the branding process, I was able to tap into Red Door's identity. The resulting works celebrated the venue, performing artists and the community as well.

Social Media

As a new music festival and starting with almost no money, Red Door was reliant on social media to deliver all of its information about the event, as well as provide engaging content.

Challenge: Give Red Door Music Festival a social identity that will grab the audience's attention and engage them to learn more about the event and ultimately attend.

SOCIAL MEDIA RESULTS: 674 LIKES, +300 CLICK-THROUGHS TO TICKET SALES WEBSITE

Apparel Design

To complement the event, I created a t-shirt for the concert-goers to enjoy and cherish along with their memories of the evening!

Event

The event was an exciting day for all involved. The physical atmosphere encapsulated the brand of the festival.

Results

In conclusion, the branding effort and event itself was an extreme success!
